How it started
This is my first year with American Heritage Girls, and I have to say, my daughter and I have fallen in love with it!
The only draw back I found was how to organize the work we did on our own. So I designed my own templates to help us keep track of the projects we have done and answers to the questions they have. So here are the ones we have worked on!
Note: these are specified for Tenderheart, since that is the level my daughter is currently on.

Badge Book
You can print these out or upload them to your Goodnotes. The templates that I have created for individual badges follow the same theme and can be added behind each badge.

Family Helper
This is the very first template I have made. In fact, all of these templates are in that order. I create a new one, I add it at the bottom. I will have to eventually start organizing them differently. This template does have the chores already in place, I have plans to make the chores chosen optional.

Home Care & Repair
As you can see in the first few templates, I’m trying out different ways to keep track of information. Later, I find the system I prefer.

Zoology
This one was one of our favorites! The time we got to spend together finding animals in the park was priceless.

Archery
I developed this template for teaching. I have plans to get a group of our troop girls together and to work on this badge together. Be sure to take lots of pictures!

Sign Language
I was pleasantly surprised when my daughter showed an interest in this badge early on. However, I recommend a shorter book than Helen Keller’s biography. It got boring fast, for someone her age. But it was fun to practice the alphabet in the car, on our way to Troop night!

Auto Care & Safety
My husband wanted to do this badge with our daughter. He was a little surprised that she didn’t have to change the oil or a tire. lol I’m sure that will come later…

Fishing
I have to say, I am dreading this badge! The troop had a day that they got together to do this, but we missed it. I think this might be a badge for Grandpa!

Fine Arts
I started out just making these for me and my daughter. But since I am now sharing them, I have added pages for each “complete one” option. Since the one you choose won’t necessarily be the one that works best for us.

Sewing
I learned soooo much on this badge! We watched videos and went to Hobby Lobby to identify fabric. It ended up being one of my favorites.

Daughter of the King
This one is dear to my heart. We haven’t done it yet, because her Troop is having a Faith Event Night for this badge. I think my daughter and I will work through it on our own anyway!

Needle Art
This one was harder than I expected. But I think that is because my daughter didn’t enjoy it. She likes things to move at a quick pace. Sitting and stitching was hard on her. She also doesn’t like being bad at things, and her thread kept getting tangled. So, as it was a harder badge, it was a valuable learning experience. Which, isn’t that what we are doing here?

Home Decorating
This was an easy one for us, due to the fact that we were building a house at the time. I let her pick her bed spread and colors in her room. The hardest part was hanging the picture required… I had broken my figure the day before. However, we enjoyed this badge, as a way to encourage her style!

Emergency Preparedness
I used this badge in our new house, as a way to prep it for emergencies. It was extremely helpful for establishing a safe home. If you are not careful, it can cause fear in your child. But if we don’t prep/talk about it now, when?

Social Skills & Etiquette
This was so fun!!! We got to have a tea party with some of her friends. They enjoyed demonstrating bad manners! The role play for introductions was so entertaining. I highly recommend this badge for developing friendships!

Our Flag
As you may have noticed this is our first badge under the Heritage part of the book. I have let my daughter pick the badges she wanted to do, up until this point. I believe, this one is important for moving forward in AHG program.

Meteorology
I highly recommend Magic School Bus for the “Watch an educational video” part of this badge. But, we already owned it, so it made it easy. This badge requires records from 2 seasons, so just keep that in mind when beginning.

Cake Decorating
This badge is going to get me fat! hahaha But such a fun experience!

Hiking
Your Troop will probably have a “Hiking Day”! They will touch on several of these points, but not all of them. You will have to do some leg work to get this badge. (Pun intended)

Mathematics
Another badge I am choosing on my daughter’s behalf. The way this one incorporates the Bible in a memorial way, is so fun! The homeschooling mom in me wants to go to the Arc in Kentucky for just #5!

Cooking
My daughter has been wanting to do this badge for a long time now. I was putting in off, due to the fact that we were living in an RV at the time. Now that we have a kitchen, I’m looking forward to this one!
They require a “Healthy Food Choices” poster. If you/your daughter want to go a different direction with it, I highly recommend it. I also included recipe cards for #5.

Ancestor Detector
These pages will get you through the Tenderheart requirements, or get you started on Explorer. Includes the template for the beginning of your scrapbook and the fun “Family Legacy Cards”.

Cycling
We are gonna wait to work on this one until it gets a bit warmer. I’m hoping we can get a group from our Troop together. The first 3 pages can also be used to get started on the Explorer badge work.
